Submitted on 1/14 and it arrived today - 1/30. Can't wait to see how long my CCW permit will take.

That's an abnormality. The only thing I can think of for the delay is that the permit office was being moved this month. :?

permit to purchase takes place at your city police station and your carry permit is the sheriff's office...my permit to purchase took 10 days, carry permit 10 days.

If you live in a city served by a police department, you do get your purchase permit from that department (not the local precinct station). If you live out in the sticks, and you don't have a police department serving your area, you get it from the sheriff's office.
