Good question. I know DeanC has one (Bulldog) and I'm sure he will chime in. He carry's it so I think he likes it.

I too have a stainless Bulldog Pug .44, it is the hammerless model. I have never liked double action revolvers in a long life of shooting and I am going to order a hammer from Charter. If your a big guy it may hide in you'r pocket it is too big for mine. The gun is good quality and recoil is managable. I dry fired it much without snap caps and went thru a fireing pin early on and Charter replaced it free. If I were to get another one I would want a 4" barrel and a hammer.

I like it a lot. With the right ammunition, it's really got a lot more snus than a .38 special. And you can carry it in your pants pocket like a j-frame. It's a little bigger than a j-frame, but not much.
I didn't really like the matte brushed finish so I buffed the heck out of it with Simichrome and I like it much better.
I usually carry it loaded with these:
or with these: .44 SPECIAL made by GEORGIA ARMS
I also swapped out the grips it comes with for a slimmer set. You can order them right off the Charter web site.

And if you don't reload, you can shoot these for practice ammo. It's basically the same load, just uses aluminum cases.

I have a stainless Undercover. I like it, and probably carry it more than any other gun I have.
The finish isn't quite as slick as S&W, but it's a good working gun.
