I just bought my wife a Bersa Thunder .380. She fired one at Bill's Gun Carnival a couple weeks ago and liked it, so I got her one. They're cheap, have a lifetime warranty, and I've never heard anyone say a bad word about them. Perhaps this would be an option for Kay as well.

Everyone seems to be on the same page as far as what fits our hands, etc. My top shooter is a female ex Marine. She's 5'5" and about 120, and her carry choice is a Glock 26. She shoots some compitition with the 26, but the 19 is a bit more controllable. In the classes I've attended at Gunsite or TR, most of the female students used a G19. A few had stovepipe problems because of limp-wristing. Guns are a big investment-shoot a bunch of different stuff if you can, before she buys one.

Bought my wife a glock 26 for a present. She couldn't rack the slide. She has weak hands I guess.
She uses the Ruger .45. She can pull that back and shoots it well.
I picked up a Berreta with a tip up barrel. That way she can put the cartrigs in the barrel and not worry about that dam slide. They make a .22, .32, maybe a .380?
Works good for this particular problem.

As an instructor and gun writer, I sympathize with these shooters! I’ve certainly worked with guns that challenged my strength when it was time to manually cycle the slide.
