I know - I'm just trolling. My neighbor has an ANIB, never fired S&W auto in 10mm so I've been investigating the balistics. He has some really hot factory loads he bought when the gun came out.
Most factory 10mm loads now are under 500ft/lbs, but you can still find some that are close to 600ft/lbs.

The ballistics chart shown is somewhat misleading. What grain bullets and to what loading are we looking at?
Example: Hornady TAP Personal defense ammo ballistics for their highest loading.
Muzzle Velocity/Energy
9mm 124gr
1100/339
.40S&W 155gr
1180/479
.45ACP +p 200gr
1055/494
So how does this fit into the "Big and Slow vs. Small and Fast" debate? Which I never understood. Why not big and fast? Felt recoil is largely dissipated with heavier guns. My wife has a 9mm Beretta PX4 she can shoot very well for about 15 rounds. Then her hand and wrist gets fatigued from the sharp snap of the lightweight gun. But shooting our all steel Smith & Wesson 686 in .357 she never feels the same harshness. And she puts my XD 45ACP Tactical somewhere in between.
That said, neither of us would would pick the 686 for our carry gun for an extended duration.

It bothers me that every gun discussion seems to degenerate into a caliber debate. You do realize there's an entire sub-forum for this, right guys?
I called Springfield today and it sounds like I'm going to have a hell of a time getting my hands on an XD9SC Bi-tone.

I'm pretty much settled on the sub-compact. I may just get the black one with 10rd mags and buy the 16rd extension separately.
If it weren't for XDs, I would probably be in the market for a G26, but Glocks just don't fit my hand like the XDs...sight alignment is dead-on.

I understand I prefer the Glocks textured blueing, the XD seem to have a rep for corrosion. (hey I have seen a few corroded, and read a lot reviews on them before I bought my Glock [Flame Suit On!])
You are right on the point issue, the XDs have the same grip angle as a 1911 and they point very we, my Glock points a bit high.
If it was me I would wait and get what I wanted, carry the colt till then.

The new Melonite finish (similar to Tenifer on Glocks) is supposed to address the corrosion issue on XDs.

My understanding is all new XD's now have the Melonite finish that first came out with the XD45. Check the Springfield website, says it on the first page. I believe it started in April, 2006.
Melonite is exactly the same process as the Tennifer that Glock uses. No more corrosion problems with the black models.

Cool, glad to hear it, If you can get the textured finish I think it would be better than the the duo tone. Get a blued gun - strip the upper and have a Teflon Nickel Finish put on it.
It turns out a dull gray... Self lubricating and well bombproof.

Well there was this one guy that set them (well one) off by biting the round. 
Waiting is the hardest part, for me day 29 and the wait till 3:30 the next day when the mail man (really is a guy) came so I could get my permit seemed to take a year!
Maybe you could rent a gun?

It is about $100.00 - $120.00 (you eat the MINIMUM plating Charge.)
YOU have to strip the upper - it would be recommended that you DO NOT buy a gun with Night Sights from the factory and buy new sights after the process is done.
Sometimes the sight tennons are SO TIGHT on the XD's that the old sights have to be milled off.
This is a custom shop option at this time from Springfield.
