Sent my PT 111 Millenium to the factory (thru Gander) on Aug 11 ...got it back today Sept 13. Four and a half wk turnaround...not bad. :)

I was having extraction problems with it..........real inconsistent no matter what I used for ammo. According to the paperwork they replaced the extractor and the recoil spring.

I'll see how it works now..............last time out with it 8 of 44 rounds hung up.

Hopefully that will fix it. They are great carry guns.

I sent my taurus in for repairs 3 times in 6 months. I eventually got rid of it. I hope they fixed yours better than mine.

Firing pin/spring broke on mine, then it wouldn't eject properly.. it was unreliable for firing, so I never could trust it for my carry piece again.

4.5 weeks sounds a little long, but is probably faster than local gunsmith queues. I had a 2 week turnaround with Smith and Wesson for NIB M29 with a burr on the ejector that was hanging up ejected cases.

Taurus has an almost no-questions-asked lifetime warranty .. and a lot of people take advantage of the fact. Turn around time lately has been 3-6 weeks due to volume of repairs.

8 out of 44 rounds hung up and you would call that a great carry gun?
I just returned from Bills north with a new Springfield micro compact 45 that I hope will be my future carry piece after another two or three trips with no failures. I fired round nose, hollow points and even went so far as to try some reloaded lead rounds.
Untill I'm totally satisfied with it's performance,I'll be carrying my sub compact XD-40.

Finally had an opportunity to try out the repaired PT111. Yesterday about 50 rounds during class and about 65 today. Zero malfunctions :D :D See if it holds.

The unreliability makes a bad carry gun. The comfort, weight and size is really nice. Reliability trumps all that though, I agree.

I too have an XDSC as my primary carry gun. I still prefer the weight and feel of my Taurus though.
