I have seen these advertised several times now and everytime I see the ad I cant help but think, 5rds of 000 buckshot in a pistol wonder how it would be for up close and personnel?

Win 2 3/4" 3- 000 pellets MV 1300fps
Win 3" 5- 000 pellets MV 1135fps

I want one also. I looked at one at the St Cloud gun show before Christmas. The dealer wanted $411 for it. Kicking myself now for not buying it. I think it would make an excellent home defense handgun. I have 410's at home with 5 buck in each shell. I believe that would put a big hurt on any interloper.

Just a reminder that the advertised velocities for those loads are out of a barrel that is probably 24-26" not 5-6". I still think that the 45/410 would not be a whole lot of fun to get shot by though. And don't forget that you can shoot slugs too. Nothing like a projectile measured in Ounces not grains.

How about walking up to a trap line at the range and saying pull and drawing your "revolver" loaded with .410 shot and powdering a Clay pigeon? Some jaws would drop!

My Dad did this with a Thomson/Center Contender with a 45 barrel and a shot choke in. It was hilarious!!!

I think Dick Metcalf talked about this on Self Defense TV on Saturday. He was showing how it could be used in a vehicle for defense.

I've heard of those little .45/410 derringers being used for anti-carjacking protection when loaded with 410 shells.

Personally I think any of the pistol snakeshot loads would be an effective anti-carjacking deterrent as well, especially after some experimenting in the Arizona desert with them.

with a chrono and a snubby barrel, and call us in the morning with the numbers. The derrigers are particularly suspect, because with a 3" barrel and a 2 1/2" 410 round you have ONE HALF INCH OF BARREL!! Not only will the muzzle velocity be compromised MORE than my waistline AND hairline combined, but the muzzle flash/blast will be ungodly.

Thank you, I just meant I wouldn't be able to find a link until I got home.
I appreciate the picture. It's kind of funny what they prohibit & let through.

I saw one of these last night at the Frontiersman. $400.00. They had both the short and long barrel versions.
How about a guess at what the volocity would be in a 6" barrel.
Anyone shoot one of these? Was it hard kicking?
