Should you replace Snap Caps occasionally? Do they wear out?

I am not sure, most are pretty long term rated, but I would look at the primer area and make sure it has some cushion still and not just sagging.

My experience is that the A-Zoom snap caps are much more durable than the plastic bodied ones. I've worn out plenty of those. (After a while the spring loaded primer section doesn't come back up anymore.)

For all you reloaders out there.

Drill some cases (4 small holes around the case) reload them without powder, stake the bullets in place and resize the case again (sans decapping pin). Clean the primer pockets and fill with RTV. Snap caps!! when the RTV starts to break up remove and replace......Long lasting snap caps.
