Lead poisioning come more from ingestion than physical contact. Touching lead isn't so bad. Licking it from your fingers is worse.
I handle each cast bullet several times before they get into the gun.

I've melted hundreds of pounds of lead for bullet casting, and I think there is lead residue from fired primers.

I got a lead test a year or two ago during "the physical" my wife made me get when I went past 40. Doctor was reluctant to order it, until I explained why.

Results were way low, and I consider myself a higher risk for lead poisioning than many.

All I do is follow good old common sense.

That's probably the biggest source, not the bullets. Richard Lee says a really dangerous place is monkeying around too much after you tumble your brass if you leave your primers in before tumbling. The lead styphnate is in very small particles and floats around and gets into everything.

I guess I'm screwed. I still bite the split shot sinkers when I go fishing. I can only hope the effects are offset by drinking mass quantities of alcohol.
Ya thats it.

Magtech ammo makes all copper bullets too...

It's the "First Defense" round. Very light/fast in 9mm.
