I just picked up a 3AT, and some FMJ white box for the range.
I'm wondering about ballistic info for this caliber.
What are the recommendations for carry, HP or hardball?
Is over penetration an issue?
Is there a good load with proven expansion?
What are others in the Know carrying?

I run plain jane Corbon HP. They work just fine in mine.
Tito, you're going to want to run 400-500rnds through it first just to break it in per KT's instructions. Then grab a box each of your prefered defensive rounds and try them in it.
And as far as hardball, only if that's the only thing the gun will feed.
I hear every other mall ninja yapping about more penetration with Ball ammo vs. HP. There's one little thing though, ball ammo/range/practice ammo is loaded ALOT lighter than carry ammo.
Then you hear the excuse "what if the tip becomes clogged with clothing/whatever. So what? then the HP essentially became full/hot loaded ball ammo that really is going to penetrate.

Corbon DPX for me. Absolutely outstanding test results by both the pros and actual owners doing their own wetpack tests. Doesn't clog through jeans or leather. Have to order online though. Haven't found a local source.

In .380, some recommend jacketed hardball for maximum penetration. Others recommend highly expanding rounds for maximum shock effect. I carry both, alternating every other round.
I'm still experimenting with which kind of each.
Every bad guy gets one of each until the threat is over (or until my .40 clears leather).
