I can't believe this hasn't shown up here yet (forgive me if it has and I missed it)
65 dems have sent a letter to AG Holder stating their opposition to the proposed AWB!!!
2 MN representatives on there :
Tim Walz, 1st congressional district (Southern MN)
Collin Peterson, 7th district (West/Northwest MN)
We should all write thank you letters.

Sounds like there are 65 Dems who remember what happened during the election after the last AWB was passed....

I talked to a Walz aide a month ago and told her that I expected Rep. Walz to be pro-active in preventing the return of the AWB. Maybe it helped.

There are a lot of Dems who are basically pro gun. They do need encouragment because the Dem leadership will make them pay the price. Otherwise, there would have been a lot more signatures here.
Without these outspoken Dems this policy would not have been rescinded. We need bipartisan support, so it does not help when gunnies mimic the Limbaugh/Fox "News" crowd, and disparage Democrats generally. Otherwise we just help the Dem leadership marginalize gunnies.
Did any Republicans even send a letter on our behalf?

Dick,
I believe this was an action by dems within their own party to make a statement. They remember what happened last time the AWB was passed. My hats are off to them for being pro-active.

You took the words right out of my mouth. Now is the time to let them know that we noticed and appreciate their support.
