Went to the doctor for a neck problem. Don't know what information my nekkid top-half was going to provide, but the appendix-carry gun was something of a surprise to the good doctor. He put his hands up and smiled good-naturedly.

I wouldn't say regret, but just a few awkward situations.
One that sticks in my mind most is carrying around family members that are very anti-gun. When goodbyes are done, if you don't initiate the hug and you're carrying a larger weapon (like I typically do), their arm can brush up against the weapon.
While it was amusing to watch the facial expressions as their thought process went from "huh?" to "OMG A GUN!!!!!", it made for an awkward situation.

I'm headed to DC.
I just talked to a retired LEO who said, "Don't carry. You can't get in anywhere."
ARGH!
I guess I'll have to make my carry decisions on a day-by-day basis. Hope I don't regret it.

Unless you're retired LE, you don't have to worry about being able to carry in DC. They don't have it.
You can OC in Virginia.
Of course, DC is one of those places where you really NEED to carry.

He's current LE, actually.
Doesn't help for a number of the institutions in DC, I wouldn't think...

Have you ever regretted NOT carrying?

There have been plenty of times and places where I have been acutely aware of the hazards. I imagine that many of the participants here have cultivated an awareness of sight lines, hiding places, and escape routes and have come to learn just how many parking lots, parking structures, and walkways are potential traps.

Amen to that. It's amazing how many dark corners there actually are in a parking ramp...

recently i was at a bar for the local ATV club meeting when some drunk got into it with one of our members. usually i would slide in and see if it could be calmed down but i had to pull away from the table because i was carrying.
hard to do but did it anyway.
at the last meeting of the rod & gun club we had multiple cases of Mich golden light but since i had the m&p on me i had to decline and just drink coke

I was touring the sites a couple years ago in DC. With me was an active Fairfax County, VA LEO. She carried a firearm...in her purse. In fact it was discovered when we visited the Holocaust Museum, and they waved her through after she showed her badge.
I don't know if things have changed or if it was because of arrangements Virginia has with DC or what. But it might be worth doing a little more digging tman

If it makes you feel any better, they are charging $1.50/bottle now.

That is one approach, and nothing wrong with it. But there are a few simple pleasures in life, and a cold beer is one of them. Moderation has it's virtues.
