Well, I sold out to the Apple Machine and got a new I-Phone...Blackberry's are like Glocks, everyone's got one and they're way over hyped! (hey! Look at me crackin' a Glock joke in a techie thread!)

One of us, one of us... Yikes! A zombie! Yeah, it's time for bed. Enjoy the phone, I've had mine for almost 2 years and will be getting a new one this summer. Yes, I do browse the forum from it. -Mark

The official Apple line is that flash is too buggy and resource intensive to be placed on their phone. Apple pushes their own video codec, H.264 instead, which of course is another reason you won't see flash on the iPhone.

Apple and Adobe have been having some serious squabbling over this, but yes, Apple has been asking Adobe to clean up Flash before they consider putting it on the phone. H.264 isn't actually a proprietary Apple standard; it's part 10 of the MPEG-4 spec, and is about the best compression out there these days. The current version of Flash actually uses H.264 at its core, but when you wrap all the garbage that Adobe includes around the central codec, it gets really ugly. Kind of like Silverlight from Microsoft... -Mark

Apple versus Adobe: two closed minded and proprietary companies fighting over who gets to screw the consumer longest and hardest.

ROTFL! I heard about that this morning from a colleague. Truly funny...a progressive company pissing off the dems. Doesn't Klobuchar have better things to do with her time, like figuring out how to lose the next election? -Mark
