Good outcome. Bad that she was raped in the first place. Bad that he had multiple prior convictions in his past. Good that she removed him from this plane of existence. Bad video and "re-enactment" style news "footage."
These pieces of dung are never "rehabilitated" by the system.

Sad waste of transplantable organs.

Oh yes, I don't mean the woman wasted them. I mean the waste started long ago.

The news story says that the coroner plans to rule the rapist's death a justifiable homicide.
On the one hand, no kidding, but isn't a coroner a doctor? Wouldn't his job be simply to determine the mechanism of death, not the justifiability of the alleged shooter?
Still, good for her, and good for both the prosecutor and the news to recognize who the victim was.

Still, good for her, and good for both the prosecutor and the news to recognize who the victim was. You are confusing a coroner with a medical examiner. Easy to do, with badly written reruns of Quincy in one's mind. What's more the defined role of these two jobs vary widely, from state to state.

While shifting from a reliance on TV to Wikipedia may be an improvement, you might be setting yourself up for another disappointment... I was snookered by Quincy as well.

I'm glad she removed this individual from the gene pool and glad she had the good sense to arm herself as well. It's also nice to see more and more reporting of people defending themselves even if the reporting is sometimes mediocre.
I guess I was not aware of the difference between an ME and a Coroner either. However, I don't know that I'd use or consider Wikipedia as a valid source of information given it's format.

Would anyone like to bet that local news channels 4, 5, 9 or 11 would have reported this story in a MUCH different way?

Yeah, it would have included something like : "The woman BORROWED her neighbors 12 Gauge shotgun, with no prior knowledge to shotguns or guns for that matter. This inexperienced woman could have...." Or something or another.

"Just as this misunderstood urban youth was turning his life around, a gun-wielding murderer takes his young life in a fit of trigger-happy rage." "Well, Don, it just goes to show you how much we need an assault weapons ban." "That's right Amelia, this kind of right wing terrorism has to stop." "Global warming."
