I did a search and did not find any info about carry at the river center. I am going to an event there and want to know other's experiences at the entrances. Thanks in advance...

I have gone to a couple of Wild game and they made you lift your coat. But Smartcarry and pocket carry saved the day!

It depends on the event. Most won't check at all. :D

At the last Rep. State convention not all the doors were posted, so I entered via an unposted door. I was concerned as I approached the metal detectors... Untill they DIDN'T go off on ME! Apparently they were not on "during" the convention... 8)

I went to a Wild game a couple weeks ago, they asked to look in my wife's purse (they did not touch it or dig, just had to open it to them). They felt my waist but didn't "press" very hard.

I went to a Swarm game at Xcel a couple of weeks ago and wasn't even patted. I'd worn an ankle holster for my M-642 anyhow.

They did make my GF open packages she'd wrapped for her sister's BD (or rather, her sister leaned over the barrier and opened them right at the gate).

Gopher's vs. Souix No pat down, not even a second look at anyone

I carry at Wild games and you usually get a cursory pat on either both sides of the waist, or front and small of the back. Never both. It's a joke really. If I get a little nervous and feel like the checker is over-zealous, I just put my right arm down by my side and hold it close to my body (and weapon). They never press the issue. It's yet-another-bullshit-feel-good-look-good check.

I think ddn has it about right. They do a pat down, but they aren't serious about it. I think the guards are actually kind of embarrassed about it.

I didn't carry when I went last time because I didn't know the drill and figured the scene they would create if they got lucky wasn't worth forfeiting the $160 in tickets.

Pocket carry would be no problem at all.

At the Dylan concert at Exel my experience was the same. They did a cursory pat down on the waist. My SmartCarry/Kahr PM9 was not detected. Their measures were a joke.

Made it to the Rob Thomas concert last night no problem. IWB with my shirt tucked it. I took my coat off as I came to the security point. They were more interested in feeling up my coat. Ignored me all together.

Am I missing something here? He asked about the River Center and not the Excel energy Center. Aren't they two different places? The Wild doesn't play at the River Center.

River Center is not posted, at least it was not during the Republican Convention.

I carried and was looking for signs. None on the street or skyway.

Only issues was that from sitting down, my IWB holster had shifted.

I was going to subtle adjust when I remember was standing next to the Governor.

Figured fiddling with my weapon at that moment was not a good idea :)

Did I miss the legislation that made it illegal to carry nearby the Governor. If so, where do I turn myself and lots of other people in.

Issue wasn't carrying near but figure burly security guy might get a little antsy to see someone reaching for a gun next to the Governor.
