Mini rant and my preferred handgun is still the 1911
Watched tonights episode and they started with a table full of different guns and told of each ones virtues. While holding up the 1911 they claimed its down fault is limited capacity 7,8,9 rds of 45acp, They then pick up a jframe and seem to feel 5rds of 38 to be ok. Where does the double standard come from

They should have said: It's downfall in comparison to other reasonably similar sized semi autos. The 1911a1 single stack limit of ~9 rounds is a hindrance when compared to a XD45's 13+1.
The J-frame, being a smaller gun, more concealable, and a revolver has comparable capacity for its size and the simplicity of the mechanism combined with pocket firing offsets the limited capaciuty somewhat.
I like PDTV but they sure gloss over some things. PDTV is an "intro to SD" course. Much more study is needed but at least people will be exposed to the concepts.

It is called personal prejudice. It may or may not be intentional, but most people have their favorites and tend to guide others towards what they like. Perhaps a Sig would have been a better choice?

Well luckily there was still one such person out there that thinks like you.
I was able to sell off my last Sig last week.

I don't care what some "expert" says about good or bad gun for self defense. I first need the gun when I need it and if that is my P32 then I'm in better shape than if I'm empty handed. After that it is hits then penetration that matters.
I would rather have my 40S&W in my hand with 15+1 and light attached but I'll take what I can get at the time.
