[UPDATE: The 23rd has been chosen - AR]

Some of you have said you would like to have another shoot.

I've pretty well been given the OK from the club under the same conditions as the last one.

The dates I'm looking at would be June 9th and we could start earlier or June 23rd a half day like last time.

Lets see a show of hands.

Now that I know what "steel" shooting is about, I would like to do it again. Last time was a rude awakening, but a good learning experience with excellent leadership...............

That was a lot of fun and I would encourage anyone whom has not shot steel before - or shot under time pressure to shoot.

It is a WONDERFUL learning opportunity. It is not a competition no matter how hard we all blew our horns last time. If you want to get better - you have to shoot. If you dont shoot against people that are good - you hve nothing to shoot for...

I am pitching this as best I can - there was a lot of very friendly rivalry there as well as a LOT of support for shooters that needed a little coaching - this is fine

Benny is a HELL of a shot and a good guy. It is mroe of a clinic than anything else - multiple targets - learning trigger control and how to use that thingee on the top front of the gun (front sight) and speed.

You have to do this once.. Try it - you will like it - for $10 you cannot beat the opportunity.

I posted the 23rd, since I would have to leave the night before to get there earlier than noon, and I hate driving in the dark!

Like Pinnacle said: The rivalry is fun, and let's face it, who doesn't like a chance to rib someone from another country, but the chance to practice trigger control, point shooting, sight alignment, and other stuff under time pressure, all for the low, low, price of $10 can't be beat.

You'll learn something (we all did), and have a bunch of fun while you're doing it.

If you've never tried any sort of USPSA, IPSC or club shooting, 'Come On Down! The Price is definitely Right!

Where the club and how early is early? I have to be to work by 11:30 in Willmar and I'm traveling in from Maple Plain.

I'm game! Perhaps I can improve on my mediocre results. I'll be a scooter rally on the Iron Range on the 9th, so the 23rd would be best for me.

The range is in Hutchinson.

Early would probably be 9am or so.

We could if the consensus says late, start at noon on either day!
:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Count me in, again. Targets that go "clang" are fun!

This time, I think I'll shoot the Taurus PT111. :)

Sounds like a lot of fun, I shoot steel plates at back home quite often.

Could someone explain how this type of thing works to me?
I read pinnacles message but would like more info.

Well, we all turn up about noon, although Selurscpi and Chinakay get there earlier and set up a couple of stages with steel targets.
We all stand about and jaw jack for about 20 minutes. We have a safety briefing and then take turns to knock over the steel against the clock. After that, someone remembers we have to pay $10 for the shoot, so there's lots of 'will you take a check', 'I've only got a million dollar note, do you have change?' until everyone pays up. After this we have a quick 'mano a mano' shoot, to see who can knock down all the plates first - just for bragging rights.
When all that's done, we try out each others toys, then make a very quick exit to avoid getting caught to help to put the targets away.

No wife's birthday or any such problems on either day, so I voted 'either'. But I lean toward not getting up early. On the other hand, the 9th is better because it's sooner! I'll have to calculate this into my ammo budget -- about how many rounds did you go through last time?
