What is it?

Find out about the Twin Cities Carry Course, or sign up for a class
TCCarry Express is a customized version of the Twin Cities Carry Course, intended for people with unusually busy lives.

The Twin Cities Carry Course is gold standard for Minnesota carry permit training, helping Minnesotans and others get handgun carry permits that will allow them to carry a firearm for self-protection in as many as 35 states.

By combining advance planning, very small classes — 1 to 3 students — getting most of the paperwork out of the way before the class starts, and studying of the course materials in advance, it's possible to responsibly cover the full spectrum of the Twin Cities Carry Course in a three-hour evening session, with a short shooting qualification on a later date.

That's TCCarry Express.

Who is it for?
TCCarry Express is for busy people.  It's for people who want to or  need to keep their weekends free, and want to take the Twin Cities Carry Course in their own home in one evening — and still get to bed at a reasonable time.

I've taught my Twin Cities Carry Course to literally hundreds upon hundreds of people since Minnesota Personal Protection Act passed in 2003 . . .

. . . and many people who have taken other carry permit instruction have gone on to take the Twin Cities Carry Course as a supplement or upgrade.  In the words of one of my competitors, "it's the Cadillac of carry courses."

The Twin Cities Carry Course is almost always taught on a weekend — a Saturday or Sunday, starting at 9 or 10AM and continuing through six hours of classwork and the shooting qualification that day.

TCCarry Express is for those people who would rather do a little homework and planning in advance, and cover the classwork in one evening . . . in the comfort and convenience of their own home.
Who isn't it for? TCCarry Express is for people who have some firearms experience — this isn't a course for somebody who has never so much as touched a handgun before.  The BeginnerToCarry class is for those folks.

And it's not a course for somebody who is unwilling to spend a few hours, in advance, reading, and filling out some paperwork.

For people who have a weekend day to spend taking a carry class, the standard Twin Cities Carry Course is probably the right choice.
So you cut corners, right? Definitely not.  Not even a little.  Taking the class to get your handgun carry permit is something you do every five years, and doing it right is important — to me, to the public, and, I hope, to you.

There are many different ways to teach a good carry course, but cutting corners isn't among them.

So I don't.   But it isn't cutting corners at all to make class time more efficient by studying the materials and doing some paperwork in advance, at your convenience, enabling parts of the course to be taught as a review, rather than from scratch.
What does it cost?  What else is required?
TCCarry Express isn't inexpensive. Customized training isn't for everybody.  Advance registration and payment is required; there are no "walk-ins" in TCCarry Express.

The cost schedule is as follows:
  • one person:    $325
  • two people:    $525
  • three people:  $750
  • four people:    $925
The other thing that's required is to spend a couple of hours, in advance, reading Everything You Need to Know About (Legally) Carrying a Handgun in Minnesota.  A copy for each person taking the class, along with the requisite paperwork for getting permits, will be mailed out well in advance of the class.
How do I sign up or learn more? Easy:  call me at 612.501.8229, or email me.  We'll set up a time, and I'll mail out books, forms, and instructions to you.  We'll hold the class on the evening we've chosen, and schedule the short shooting qualification for an hour or so on a subsequent day — perhaps even the next day.

It's that easy.
